Why there is a blind spot in the magnetic flap level gauge

Why there is a blind spot in the magnetic flap level gauge

We all know that the magnetic flap level gauge is very suitable for measuring the liquid level of storage tanks, but the existence of blind spots is undeniable. So why is there a blind zone in the magnetic flipping level gauge? Does the blind zone of the magnetic flipping column level gauge affect the level measurement?

First, let's look at the structure of the magnetic flap level gauge, which is composed of flap indicator, ruler, main pipe, magnetic float, connecting flange, and drain valve.

The range of the magnetic flap level gauge is the distance between the centers of the two flanges, and the upper flange to the top of the tank, and the lower flange to the bottom of the tank is the so-called blind zone, but if you know this distance, there is no blind zone. Up. It can be calculated when designing the tank. This installation structure is due to the working principle of the magnetic flap level gauge. First of all, the float itself must have a length, even if it is short, it has a length. When the liquid level is zero or close to zero, in order to achieve the effect of accurate measurement, the float must start to float at the zero level, so the blind zone must Consider the length of the float below the zero level.

Then when the liquid level is full, the solenoid valve is the same. The bottom end of the float must be above the full liquid level. This explains why there are blind areas in the magnetic flap level gauge, and the distance between these blind areas is fixed, and the liquid level is calculated differently in the following two cases:

1. The space below the bottom of the tank is sufficient to meet the distance of the blind zone, then the distance between the centers of the two flanges of the magnetic flap level gauge at this time is the full liquid level distance, regardless of the blind zone.

2. If the space below the bottom of the tank is enough to meet the distance of the blind zone, when the high temperature solenoid valve is designed and selected, the flange must be installed between the bottom and the top of the tank. At this time, the liquid level is calculated We must consider the blind spot.

The above two situations are suitable for the side-mounted magnetic flap level gauge. If the top-mounted magnetic flap level gauge is used, there is no blind spot problem.
